ERROR [vscode-extension-install-failed]
The diagnostic contains vscode-extension-install-failed. File paths, line numbers and the detailed reason depend on the project or editor configuration; read the complete line printed by the command.
Why does it happen?
User tasks require the companion's top-selection command. Setup does not write those tasks after a failed companion installation. The optional Verilog language extension can also be unavailable when the marketplace cannot be reached; the diagnostic distinguishes that case.
What is the fix?
Read the command failure, verify the selected editor can install extensions and retry. The plain FPGA CLI remains usable. Keep existing user tasks while resolving the extension problem.
