MIX.xpr:1: ERROR [vivado-set-ambiguous]

The diagnostic contains vivado-set-ambiguous. File paths, line numbers and the detailed reason depend on the project or editor configuration; read the complete line printed by the command.

Why does it happen?

The reader follows synth_1 source/constraint selection and ActiveSimSet. It refuses a missing or inconsistent selection when multiple sets exist. An ambiguous simulation set stops simulation; it does not choose a random testbench.

What is the fix?

Select the intended active set in Vivado and save the project. Re-run the command for that project; a flat copy outside the project tree is the explicit alternative.
