Why does it happen?

The reader resolves $PSRCDIR and $PPRDIR. A cache or generated-IP variable can refer to a Vivado-specific directory whose contents are not available to this toolchain.

What is the fix?

Copy the required source into the project source directory and add that file through Vivado, then save. Generated IP and block designs are not automatically converted into supported RTL.
