sim, bit, flash and clean take one optional argument, the top module (dewfpga bit counter) or its file (dewfpga bit counter.sv); there are no flags. install takes none; where the tools go is set with the environment variable FPGA_HOME.
What is the fix?
Drop the option. A longer simulation timeout is an environment variable too:
